Strange Sounds

A disjointed series of sound files we’ve created over the last few years, ranging from odd to extremely disturbing.

Sound Collages. A few of the monstrous sound creations Daisy made out of recorded lines from movies (which may or may not be copyright infringement, does anyone know?) back when she was insane but didn’t have Emily and Brenden to be insane with her.

Where’s Jamie?. Sounds snagged from Foxfire, Girl Interrupted, Beyond Borders. (Okay, so I was obsessed with Angelina Jolie…). This one is kind of the crowning achievement of my whole sound collage era. Here those clicks? I did the whole thing on a real old-fashioned tape recorder! (circa 2004)

It’s Already Happening. Sounds from Six Feet Under, Practical Magic. This one was made after I got my first laptop, so I used GarageBand. (circa 2005)

No One Gets Better. Sounds from Six Feet Under, Girl, Interrupted (including the deleted scenes on the DVD). (circa 2004)

What do you do when you’re alone?. Walking around school asking people what they do when they’re alone. If you went to MdS with us, you’re very probably in here. Daisy and Emily are, of course, the two girls talking at the beginning, when we were first friends. (2004)

Everything Is Lighting Up. One of many two-voiced poems we did. The result of Daisy’s panic response to her early sexual encounters (don’t worry, it all worked out). (2005)

Did you call the Devil last night? Rewrite of the hysteria of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible to be about the actual evil forces of our world. (2006)
